New snow but not enough to stay open. We are closed till the snow flies again.

The Yurt is closed.  We hope for lots more snow, but until then, we are shut. Thank you for your support this season.

Hope Valley continues to be a wonderful place to explore. Dust off your xc gear. It’s time to kick and glide.

Please note that we are only able to accept checks or cash at the Yurt.

We will continue to let you know about recreational possibilities in the Hope Valley area, up into Blue Lakes and Burnside Lake, along  SR 88 from Plasse’s to Woodfords, into Markleeville, and over into Meyers and South Lake Tahoe.

Please note that winter conditions can be very cold, especially when the wind is blowing. Wear enough layers, wool, smart wool, synthetics, to stay warm while you are skiing.

HOPE VALLEY OUTDOORS is located at Pickett’s Junction, at the intersection of  State Route 88 and Highway 89 in Hope Valley. Our Yurt is on the south side of Highway 88.

HOPE VALLEY OUTDOORS is a sustainable,  off-the-grid, winter resort  offering  our customers the best in outdoor recreational opportunities!

If you’re looking  for cross-country skiing, back country skiing, snowshoeing, rentals, lessons, and even guided tours,  Hope Valley Outdoors can provide experienced instruction and information for  all your outdoor needs.

We now have a FAT BIKE for you to rent.

We maintain the trails around our Yurt, and provide cleared parking for you. We appreciate your donation to help us to continue to do this.  We suggest $10, but any donation is welcome.

In our quiet and secluded location, only 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe, we do not have any internet,  phone or cell phone service.

We are only able to accept cash or checks at the Yurt.
